Top Wallpaper Trends for 2021

Mural Wallpaper

Mural wallpaper has seen an increase of over 300% in Google searches over the past year, which probably explains why it’s the top wallpaper trend for 2021.

‘3D wallpaper designs will become a huge trend,’ says Alex Whitecroft, Head of Design at I Want Wallpaper. ‘As we look for creative ways to make our spaces feel bigger, expect to see giant wall murals which create an infinite effect and feeling of depth featuring tunnels, cityscapes and forests’.

Florals are in, in a big way – literally – in 2021. Enlarged flowers are a key trend this year so incorporating them in your wall mural. A cross-trend design like Graham & Brown’s Wallpaper of the Year, Timepiece Amethyst (pictured below) is the perfect way to make a statement.

‘There is more wall than anything else in any decorating scheme so adding interest here is key’ explains Martin Waller, Founder of Andrew Martin. ‘This can be achieved through textured wallpapers, wall murals or through bold hits of colour.’

David Attenborough’s positive influence on the way we think about the environment is now stretching to wallpaper trends. From tropical banana leaf prints to emerald foliage, green hues are everywhere.

We all know that wood panelling has been a huge trend over the past few years but now panelling wallpaper designs are making it quicker and easier to achieve that look.
